Who we are
The Innovation Village is a launchpad for leading entrepreneurs and innovators working to solve our most pressing challenges using technology. We are an ecosystem builder at the heart of an interconnected network of entrepreneurs, academia, private sector, government, investors and innovators deepening the application of technology in powering socio-economic prosperity. At the Village, we bring the ecosystem together to be a catalyst for job creation by creating a path for entrepreneurs to grow their business. Our purpose is to deliberately grow innovation by putting in place a platform that challenges assumption, ignites thought and questions the status quo. In 2020, we launched our creative makerspace – MoTIV and administrative spaces in the Western, Eastern and Northern regions with offices in Mbarara, Jinja and Gulu respectively.

Our Impact amidst COVID-19
Our impact report explores the state of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Uganda in 2020 and then the work we do at The Innovation Village within this context. The impact made are driven by data from the activities we implemented during the year of 2020. As an ecosystem builder for entrepreneurs, we collect significant data points which we use to define our programmatic interventions going forward, as well as inform stakeholders on areas to focus on within the ecosystem. As such, we make recommendations on how various players within the ecosystem can make important contributions based on the opportunities, gaps and trends identified.
